The Adršpach rocks are a truly fascinating destination that can be reached in several ways. Whether you arrive by car, train, bus, or bicycle, there is a suitable route for every form of Adršpach Rock City arrival. While most visitors come by car, taking the train is often the better choice. The train stops directly at the entrance to the rock city—you couldn’t get any closer even with a car. For those vacationing in the area, arriving by bicycle is ideal, as it allows you to avoid the exorbitantly high parking fees. Here is all the detailed information for your journey.
Adrspach rock city by car
The Adršpach Rock City is located near the town of Adršpach within the Adršpašsko-Teplické skály nature reserve in the Broumov Highlands (Broumovská vrchovina).
- From Prague: Approx. 180 km, about 2.25 hours.
- From Dresden: Approx. 280 km, about 3.5 hours.
- From Wrocław: Approx. 115 km, about 2 hours.
- From Nuremberg: Approx. 480 km, about 5.75 hours.
The roads surrounding Adršpach are relatively narrow, winding, and sometimes prone to potholes. Keep this in mind and plan for extra travel time so you don’t miss your entry time slot. You can drive directly to the entrance, where official paid parking lots are located. Please note that parking outside of designated areas is strictly prohibited. To ensure you get a spot, we strongly recommend reserving your parking space online in advance. During the summer peak season, the lots can fill up completely.

Just a few years ago (around 2018), parking was completely free. Today, it is quite expensive—in fact, it was one of the most costly parking spots on our entire Czech Republic road trip. If you don’t buy your ticket in advance, you pay at the machine, which accepts Czech coins, bills, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard). Online prices are cheaper than on-site prices.
Peak Season (July 1 – August 31):
- Cars & Motorcycles: 300 CZK on-site / 200 CZK online
- RVs & Buses: 700 CZK on-site / online availability is limited
Main Season (April 1 – June 30 & Sept 1 – Oct 31):
- Cars & Motorcycles: 250 CZK on-site / 180 CZK online
- RVs & Buses: 500 CZK on-site / online availability is limited
Low Season (Nov 1 – March 31):
- Cars & Motorcycles: 150 CZK on-site / 100 CZK online
- RVs & Buses: 350 CZK on-site / not available online
Important Note: These prices are for a day ticket valid from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Short-term tickets are not available. Overstaying at night is discouraged: between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM, the rate is 150 CZK per hour. The parking lot is intended for day visitors, not for overnight camping. (Prices as of 2026; subject to change).
Arriving by Train: The Ideal Choice

For a relaxed arrival without traffic stress or parking fees, the train is perfect. The railway line runs through a picturesque valley, offering views of the rock formations before you even arrive. The Adršpach station is located right at the entrance.
- From Prague to Trutnov: Take the train from Prague to Trutnov (approx. 2.5 hours).
- From Trutnov to Adršpach: Take the local train (approx. 50 minutes).
- The Correct Stop: There are three stations in the area: “Horní Adršpach,” “Dolní Adršpach,” and simply “Adršpach.” You must get off at “Adršpach” to be right at the entrance of the rock city.
Adrspach Rocks by Bus
Bus travel is another convenient option. Several lines stop in the immediate vicinity of the entrance. Lines such as the 377 (from Broumov), 360 (from Police nad Metují), and 371 (from Broumov) will drop you off right at the gates.
Adršpach – how to arrive with the Bicycle
If you are staying nearby in a hotel, holiday apartment, or campsite, the bike is a great alternative. A cycle path leads directly to the entrance, where you will find bicycle parking. Please note: Cycling inside the rock city is not allowed. You must park and lock your bike at the entrance before beginning your hike.
